Cassandra Summit is coming to Santa Clara Convention Center on September 22 – 24 this year. (Want to re-live the experience from last year, or just take a quick look at what you missed? Check out our wrap-up video –  Cassandra Summit 2014 – San Francisco.) Whether you have attended a Cassandra Summit before, or thinking of going for the first time, whether you are a Cassandra expert or a newbie, here are the five reasons you won’t want to miss this year’s event.

.) Hear from users in the community and DataStax experts – our Call For Papers is open, and you can submit here. The CFP closes on June 30th – we have received submissions from dozens of companies so far including Pager Duty, Netflix, Constant Contact, and Apple.

.) Hang out with 3,500 other Big Data pros, and use the opportunity for networking and learning from thought-leaders in the industry. Whether you are an architect, developer or in operations there are sessions designed just for you across more than 120 total sessions.

.) Get your ticket for in-person training and certification. We will be partnering with O’Reilly Media to proctor exams for Cassandra Developer certification at summit. Attend five hours of training on Cassandra data modeling, internals and architecture with DataStax experts before taking your test. Successful participants will receive their certificates at the event.

.) Cassandra Live – back by popular demand, and bigger than ever, this room showcases some of the hottest applications around that are built on Apache Cassandra including Yelp, Hulu, Weather Channel, Netflix, Call of Duty and Instagram. Attend the dynamic Q+A with development, operations, and architecture teams from the companies presenting.

.) Looking for a different gig? This is the place to be. With Cassandra skills commanding over 150% of the median salary there will be talent recruiters from many of the companies presenting in attendance along with more than 35 partners in the partner pavilion.
